My Polish Stash: Models Own

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a nice day. For today i thought i would continue my mini series post showing you my nail polish collection, if you missed last week i shared my Barry M collection. As you can tell from the title this post is going to be showing all the Models Own polishes i own so far, i say so far because i love love love these polishes.
From left to right we have in the navy, Betty blue, feeling blue, Balearic cool and bloo bloo.
Gun grey, moody grey, mushroom, purple ash, nude beige and peach puff.
Jade stone, fuzzy peach, hedonist, pink punch, pink blush and pastel pink.
Purple smash up, snowflakes, hot stuff, Ibiza mix, Indian ocean, sterling silver and nail art pens in black and white.

So there we have it, my complete Models Own collection so far. As you can see i adore these polishes they retail at £5 each, i get the majority from mine from Boots as there always seems to be some sort of offer on them. But you can also get them direct from their website of course, where they have all the colours of the rainbow it seems haha. I find the formula brilliant for me as for most of the colours i normally only need two coats and i find it dries reasonably fast and lasts well on my nails. Are you a Models Own freak like me? Thank you for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

NOTD: Rimmel Rose Libertine

Hello lovelies, i hope your all having a brilliant day. As i said in yesterdays Rimmel lipstick post i bought a few bits from Boots this week and this polish was one of them.
Rimmel London have a few different types of nail polish, this one is from the 60 seconds range. Normally i find nail varnish takes a long time to dry, even those that state to be fast drying. However i did find this dries quite quickly but i wouldn't quite say 60 seconds fast. I know i already own a lot of pinks but i couldn't resist this shade, it's a lovely rosy pink.

As i said i picked this up from Boots and it cost £3.69 and they currently have a 3 for 2 offer on Rimmel products. You can also pick up Rimmel London products from Superdrug and some big supermarkets. Do you own any Rimmel nail polishes? Thank you for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

My Ombre Hair Care Routine

Click here to read my updated ombre hair care routine.

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a great day. So I'm doing a post I've been meaning to do now for weeks, how i look after my ombre hair. For those of you who don't know what ombre is, it's where the ends of your hair are a different colour to the roots, in most cases this is where your brown at the roots and it slowly goes to a blonde at the end. Some of you may already know that i ombred my hair myself using the Loreal wild ombre hair kit, if you haven't read it already here is my full review.  But just to basically refresh i had to do two kits to get the colour i wanted, it destroyed my hair at the ends, and i ended up with what i would call a slightly coppery blonde. Don't get me wrong i did really like it but i needed to get it back into a good healthy condition again, so this is what i have been doing to do this.

Shampoo's and conditioners:
I would like to say first, i wash my hair about two maybe three times a week. Washing your hair everyday isn't good for your hair and your hair produces oils which are good for it, i also have a ridiculous amount of hair so even if it was good for your hair i just simply don't have the time haha.

So when i wash my hair i alternate between Loreal elvive nutri-gloss shine shampoo and conditioner and the Lee Stafford bleach blondes. I like the elvive nutri-gloss as i find it leaves my hair feeling really smooth and silky and it just looks and feels in nice condition. I then use the bleach blondes to help maintain the blonde colour of the ends of my hair, it's better to maintain the blonde than the brunette. This is also a purple shampoo and when i say purple i mean as purple as the bottle is. This helps to knock out the brassy tones so it leaves a really nice blonde. I personally think this has majorly helped to improve the colour of my blonde ends. I then do a macadamia oil deep repair masque, about once a month to really give the ends of my hair a boost. I have previously done a full review on this masque and how i used it so if you would like more information please read here.

Heat protection and oils:
Before i dry my hair i always use a heat protection spray, i particularly like Schwarzkopf got2b guardian angel as i don't find it sticky and it doesn't weigh my hair down. Before i had my hair ombre i was rubbish at using a heat spray but because it's now damaged i ensure i always do this whenever applying heat to my hair. I then like to use another macadamia oil product this time the healing oil spray after I've dried my hair. This smells lovely and comes out as a fine mist, so it's a lot easier to make sure you don't apply to much. I find this helps any fly aways and instantly puts moisture back into my hair, making the damaged ends more healthy and manageable.

Brush and hairdryer:
It's important to use a wide tooth comb when brushing wet hair as using a brush can damage your hair   more. I jut picked this one up from Boots awhile and i can't remember what make it is if it is any, but it doesn't matter as long as it's a wide tooth comb. I also wanted to include the hair dryer as i love mine and think it's fantastic. It's by Mark Hill, I'm pretty sure this leopard print one was limited edition but i know you can get other animal print ones. As i said earlier i have a stupid amount of hair, as well as it being long it is ridiculously thick and this drys it in no time. Because it dries it so fast it limits the length of time heat is on my hair which i think is a lot better and healthier for my hair.

And this is what my hair looks like now after about two months of it being ombre using this little routine. I would like to add though I'm not a hairdresser this is just products that i have found that has worked for me. The only thing i need to do now to get my hair in a better condition is to get it cut, but considering how bad it felt after i used the wild ombre kit it's much more healthy and manageable. Are there any products you find really work for damaged hair? Thank you for reading, i hope this post helps and i shall see you all again soon x

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick: Shade 101

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a nice start to the weekend. So this week i was slightly naughty and bought a few bits from Boots, one of which was another lippy from the Kate range. I already have two lipsticks from the Rimmel lasting finish by Kate range and think they're great, so i wanted to pick one up in pink.
I really like these matte lipsticks, well obviously as i now own three haha. I find them really easy to apply and feels really nice and moisturising on, which is brilliant if you have dry lips. The lasting power is also quite impressive on these lippies and i find i only need to re-apply every now and then through out the day.
I really love the colour, I find it a really nice not to in your face matte baby pink. These lipsticks are really nice quality at an affordable price, of just £5.50. As i said earlier in the post i bought this from Boots but you can pick up Rimmel products from Superdrug and some big supermarkets. Do you own any lipsticks from this range? Thank you for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

MUA Brushes: F3, E2, E3, & E4

Hello lovelies, i hope your all having a good week. Today i thought i would talk about my new MUA brushes as i have been using them quite a bit lately.
The F3 is a concealer brush, E2 a contour eyeshadow brush, E3 a fluffy blending eyeshadow brush and the E4 is a eyeliner brush.
F3 Brush: I have tried to love this brush but i just can't. I'm use to applying my concealer with my fingers and i find i do a better job that way. I found this brush really awkward to work with as it wasn't blending the product in, it seemed more like it was just dragging it around. I also found the tip of the brush to stab into my skin whilst i was trying to blend out my concealer. This might just be me being rubbish but i have tried with different types of concealer several times and i just can't get it to work for me.
E2 Brush: I love this brush and think it does it's job perfectly. It makes creating a smokey eye so much easier, i use this brush every time I'm doing my eyeshadow.
E3 Brush: Again i love this brush, in fact i have ordered another one. This brush is really soft and makes blending out eyeshadow so mush easier. Again this brush makes creating a smokey eye so much easier and quicker.
E4 Brush: As the tip of this brush is almost pen like it makes eyeliner easier. Although i do like to use a small angled brush to do this job, i do like to use this to add eyeshadow along the top of the eyeliner to add a pop of colour. This also has a detachable handle which you can put the brush into so you can take it in your handbag for any touch ups on the go, and this also makes it easier for you if you prefer a smaller handle.

I believe all these brushes are only £1.95 each, I'm sorry i can't check the price of each one cause some are currently out of stock on MUA's website, but if they are more they certainly aren't over £3. Like always you can pick up MUA products in certain Superdrug stores or online. I would like to add that I'm not 100% certain if the brushes are available in Superdrug stores right now but if not they will be soon. Thank you for reading, i hope this helps anyone interested in these brushes and i shall see you all again soon x

MAC Amplified Lipstick: Vegas Vault

Hi lovelies, i hope your all having a good day. So awhile ago i bought a few things from MAC and one of them was my very first lipstick...YAY! There are many and boy do i mean many shades i would like but seem as i had a red and a dark vampy red i wear a lot already i decided on Vegas vault.
This is from their amplified creme lipstick range and is priced at £14, i know to some this is a little pricey but it is such a luxurious lipstick. Creamy isn't the word it is beautiful to wear and glides on like a dream. I find it's lasting power impressive but does need touching up every now and then. The packaging is simple like all MAC make-up but i really like this i find it very elegant. Vegas vault is a stunning coral which will certainly be perfect for when the sun comes out.

There are MAC stores around, mine is in my local House of Fraser but I'm not too sure where your local one may be so here is their website just in case there isn't one close to you. Do you own any MAC lipsticks? I can feel a deep un-breakable obsession starting with MAC lipsticks, they are so gorgeous. Thanks for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

My Polish Stash: Barry M

Hello lovelies, i hope your all having a good start to the week. The other day i was sorting out my nail varnish and i thought i would do a kind of mini post series of my collection so far. I'm not to sure if these type of posts will float your boat but i like to look at other peoples polish stashes as i'm a bit of a nail varnish junkie. So i thought today i would start off by sharing all the Barry M polishes i own.
From left to right we have raspberry, pomegranate, shocking pink, pink flamingo, bright pink and strawberry ice cream.
Silver and gold foil effects, berry ice cream, lemon ice cream, coral and peach melba.
Croc effect in black, white and black nail shatter effect, limited edition pink, diamond glitter, ruby glitter and pink iridescent.

It would appear i really like Barry M's pink shades haha. These polishes range from £3 to £5 each, and are brilliant quality for the price. As you can probably tell i really like them and will certainly be getting a lot more. You can buy Barry M products from Boots Or Superdrug or if you prefer from their website. Are you a fan of Barry M nail paint? Thanks for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist

Hello my lovelies, i hope you are all well and having a good week. So as many of you will already know a few weeks ago i went a little crazy and bought a lot of products, so i am still trying to catch up on doing posts on them for you. Today i thought i would talk to you about MUA's fixing mist as the lovely Alice from Bright town girl left a comment asking about it and i thought as it's quite new a few of you might want to know about it.

I Have never tried a fixing mist before, the only time i have really thought about doing anything is on the rare occasion i go out so i have fancy make-up and I'd use the old trick of using hair spray. I'm sure many of you would of tried this at least once and I'm certain that all of you that have thought the same thing as me...sure i may look nice but i have a horrible taste in my mouth (not that i leave it open when i spray haha) and now my face stinks of hair spray. Well i can assure you this is a million times better and doesn't leave you chocking in the horrible hairspray stench.
"Fixes your make-up in place all day long. Protects against heat, humidity, cold and windy conditions; whatever your day throws at you - your make up will hold in place."

I have tried to put this to the test as much as i could for you guys, as i don't apply my make-up at 7am go to work and need it to last me till i walk back through the door at say 7pm. I have found this fixing mist personally for me and my needs rather affective, for example i have a habit of resting my hand on my jaw when I'm sitting so of course my make-up will wear. Also my nose can get a bit oily through the day so it will also wear through my make-up, but i have found my foundation looks better and like i have just applied it for longer when i have worn this. I also put it to the test by doing a full face of make-up including a natural smokey eye, sprayed some of this to fix it all in place and then hopped in the shower to test against the heat and humidity, and i must say i was really impressed. Because i wear powder over my foundation as i like a matte look, normally when i do my make-up and then decide i need a quick shower i have to re-apply my powder. However when i done it using the mixing mist my make-up still looked like i had just applied it and wasn't affected in anyway. I won't like to comment if it does last the full eight hours that it states on the bottle as i don't have my make-up on for that long, but i would say it certainly protects your make-up and holds it in place for a reasonable time.

It's incredibly easy to use simply apply your make-up, hold the fixing spray at arms length, close your eyes and spray. I use about two, three sprays and that's it. At first because it's wet i did fear it would take all the powder i had just applied off, but once it dried i couldn't even tell i was wearing it. It also has a very pleasant sweet scent, which is a lot better than nasty hairspray. MUA products are available in selected Superdrug stores or you can visit their website. At the moment it's still in the sale for £4 but it's regular price is still only £5, so it is very affordable if you would like to try it. I hope some of you find this helpful, thank you for reading, and i shall see you all soon x

NOTD: Revlon Sparkling & Maybelline Really Rosy

Hello everyone, i hope your all having a good start to the week. Today for my nails i really wanted to try out two of my new polishes.
I'm really sorry for the untidiness of my nails but i don't have something small enough to clean them up properly. I adore these two together as i personally think that dusky rose pinks are a really romantic colour. I love both of these polishes and think they are such a perfect match for each other. I really do need to invest in a good camera as this picture doesn't do the Revlon sparkling glitter justice, this polish is stunning.

I picked both these polishes up from Boots, and both in different offers. At the moment selected Revlon items are all £5 each but i think it's regular price is £7.99. The Maybelline polish is originally £4.30 but it's buy one got one half price on Maybelline products so as i bought something else i only paid something like £2.15. I hope you like this look, thanks for reading and i shall see you all soon x

Natural Smokey Eye Using The Heaven & Earth Palette

Hello ladies. The other day i created a look using MUA's heaven & earth palette and really liked it so i thought i would share it with you guys.
Now i know some people will think natural smokey eyes basically all look the same, but if your a natural fan like me you won't be able to get enough of the many variations of this look. I wore this look just to go shopping but because of the creamy gold colour i think it would also look stunning on a night out. Sadly the pictures don't capture it brilliantly but in person the colours did look a bit more intense so where more noticeable.

To create this look i used shades 1,4,6,7 and 9 from the heaven & earth palette. I simply applied shade 1 to the inner corner and majority of the lid, i then gradually built up the colour towards the outer corner of the lid using shades 6 and 4. To make the outer corner really stand out i then used a slight bit of 9 just to intensify the look. To complete i used shade 7 above the contouring of the lid just to blend the look out more. And that's it, with a smokey eye the key part is to gradually build the colours, making sure to really blend them together along the way.

I hope you enjoy this look as much as i did wearing it, thank you for reading and i shall see you all soon x

MUA Pro-Base Concealer & Highlight Kit

Hello lovelies, have you all got that Friday feeling yet? I know i do as baby monster is staying at his nanny's tomorrow night so woop woop haha. Yesterday i posted my huge haul & sale picks so i have lots of new things to talk to you guys about, and the first one i had to share was the MUA concealer and highlight kit from the new pro-base range.
"Perfectly blendable camouflage for almost any skin imperfections including blemishes, scars, birthmarks, and under eye circles. Also contains highlighting cream to transform your complexion with luminescent shimmer."

So many of you will already know i have the worst dark circles around my eyes, it's a complete joke. I look like my eyes are being sucked into my skull and someone has give me two black eyes, it really is that ridiculous. So of course concealers are a huge must for me and i think it's one of the best creations around, but i have used quite a few as i haven't really found one that i was in love with and thought it done the job really well. Until now that is, i can not praise this little kit enough, i mean it's amazing. Before i got this i was using my MAC studio finish concealer, but because the woman didn't match me up that well it's a bit too orange for my complexion so i can't use as much as i need to, i know bloody annoying right. So when i saw this little kit i thought i would certainly give it a try as i was also interested in the highlighter as when using the MAC concealer i had to then use another product to highlight. I must admit although i love a lot of MUA products i didn't think it would work that well as my circles are stupidly bad, but because it was in the sale for just £2.50 i thought sod it.

At first i wasn't completely won over because of the texture of the cream, to me it does feel a little on the oily side and at first i could notice it on my skin. However it really is perfectly blendable like it says, you don't notice any harsh lines, it looks really natural and in my opinion flawless. I picked it up in porcelain- beige as i am very pale and it's a fantastic match for my complexion. Because of this i can use however much i need to completely conceal my dark circles. I use the first cream, which is the medium shade out the three to completely banish my dark circles and then use the middle cream which is the lightest to then highlight just above my cheekbone, a tiny bit on my brow bone and cupids bow, down the side of my nose and again under my eyes. The beauty of this palette to me is that all of the creams are buildable and you can play around with them until you find what works best for you. The only slight teeny tiny problem that i have found with it, is if you rub your eye area some product does come off. But I'm not overly fussed as i hardly ever rub under my eyes anyway.

I have used this everyday since i have bought it and I'm very surprised that it can all but get rid of my dark circles and if it can do that it can cover up anything trust me haha. The palette does come in two other shades as well, so you should be able to find one to suite your complexion. As i say at the moment this is in the MUA sale for £2.50 but it's regular price is only £3.50 which is still an amazing price. You can pick up MUA products in selected Superdrug stores or online from their website. Have you picked this little miracle kit up yet? I hope you all have a brilliant weekend, thanks for reading and i shall see you all soon x

Crown Brush 88 Eye Shadow Palette

Hello lovelies, i hope your all having a nice evening. I wanted to do a post on a palette i got recently, which was in fact a bonus Christmas present off my dad. I really wanted a large multi coloured palette so i wouldn't have to keep buying small palettes for just a few new colours. I already had my eye on this palette but i asked the very talented MUA Karla Powell if she could recommend one to me and surprisingly she recommended the one i was already looking at. So thank you Karla for helping me make my mind up haha.
As you can see from the outside it's just basic black plastic packaging, but it does feel really stable and it locks really well which to me is the main thing. It's not to large in size and i was a bit surprised when i first looked inside as the eye shadows themselves are rather small. However the colours are just beautiful...
It has a lovely range from white and really light browns to yellows, through to gorgeous greens and blues, down to stunning purples and reds, and then finishing off through to darker browns, silvers, greys and blacks. As you can probably tell from the way I'm righting, i really really love this palette. It ranges in matte to slightly shimmery shades, but if you are after a shimmery colour palette they do do a palette just like this where all the shades are shimmery.

As i said earlier when i first looked in this palette i was slightly disappointed as they looked so small, however after doing a few looks i realised you don't need a lot of product as they are nicely pigmented. So because you don't need a lot i would imagine this will last me quite some time. I have already posted two looks i created using this which was my silver smokey eye and my purple smokey eye i done for new years eve. I have also been experimenting with the different shades of brown for neutral day looks, and i must say the possibilities seem endless as there are so many different shades to choose from. I also love how easy they are to apply, they are a dream to blend and work with, and they last really well too. I will admit i am still learning, especially when it comes to eye shadow but these are the easiest shadows i own to work with.

The palette only costs £22.99, which won me over even more. I know this may seem a lot to some but i think if you like coloured eye shadow but like me didn't have a good range, this works out a lot cheaper than buying 12 shadow palettes where your going to be doubling up on a lot of shades. Where as with this i can now do any colour look i want or need to as i have lots of different shades of each colour. I'm not sure if you can actually buy Crown brush products in any stores but here is their website, they also sell some really nice makeup brush sets that i really want to try. After the quality of this palette and service i shall certainly be making some more orders to them. Do you have any Crown brush products, if so what do you recommend? Thanks for reading, i hope you all have a lovely weekend and i shall see you all again soon x

NOTD: Peach Puff & Diamond Glitter

Hello lovelies, I hope your all enjoying the weekend so far. Today's nails are again rather girly but I really like the look and think it would look great for a special occasion.
For this look I used two coats of Models Own peach puff, I love this neutral light peach colour. And then added Barry M's diamond glitter to the tips and slightly dragged it down so the glitter is only on the top half of the nail. To make sure the tips are really glittery I did have to do a few coats, as the glitter is rather small. Annoyingly the picture doesn't do the look justice, i think i may have to invest in a good camera this year as it really annoys me when that happens.

Although I'm not crazy about glitter i am a really big fan of this look and you can do it with lots of different colour combinations, but I do especially love the more neutral ones. Are you a fan of this kind of look too? Thanks for reading and I shall see you all again soon xx

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Hello, so I'm finally getting round to writing about the bits i got from my mini MAC haul. And i though i would start off with the one i love the most, my mineralize skinfinish natural in medium. Oh my lord this stuff is like powdered heaven haha.
Now i know this product has got a lot of hype in the beauty blogging world and it isn't the most affordable powder, hence why i was lusting after it for such a long time. This was actually one of my Christmas presents off the Mr, cause i wanted it so bad. For those of you who haven't already stalked it, it is priced at £21. Now to some that may not be so bad but to me (and i know there will be other people like me) that's a lot of money, i mean in my world that'll get me enough nappies for baby monster for like nearly two months haha. But i can assure you in my opinion this is worth every last penny, and i will now never be without one.

For starters to me this powder smells so good, it's like a sweet vanilla i dunno if that's just me being crazy or if it does actually smell like that to others, but who cares i like it haha. I use my Models Own powder brush to apply this after my foundation and it just seems to instantly make my complexion flawless. I only use a light sweeping of this to give my face a matte finish, so because you only need to use a little bit of product i do believe it will last a long time, making it even more value for money. It also feels really light on and although it makes your skin perfectly matte, it doesn't look really cakey. I'm really pale but the woman recommend medium and it matches my skin tone perfect, i don't look like my face is a different colour and unless your quite close to me, i personally don't think it looks like I'm wearing a powder. I have worn this powder every time i have done my makeup since buying it, i really can not stress how good this makes my skin look.

After trying this for myself i can now fully understand the hype and why i see it everywhere in the blogging community, in my opinion it truly is worth it and i have indeed been sucked in hence why it ended up in my top 10 of 2012. Thank you for reading and i shall see you all again soon x

NOTD: Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream

Hello, i hope you all had a fantastic new years and are having a great start to the year. So i thought i would kick off this year with a quick nails of the day.
I have on two new polishes i bought yesterday both are by Barry M, Strawberry ice cream and on top of my ring finger i have pink iridescent. I know it's a very girly look and not normally something i would of maybe gone for in the past but i looked at these polishes and couldn't put them down haha. I did have to apply three coats of the strawberry ice cream to ensure i had a nice even colour all over my nail, but i can live with that for such a pretty light baby pink. The picture doesn't show off the pink iridescent polish enough, as it is a stunning light pink with tiny sparkles.

I picked these up from Superdrug but you can get Barry M from other retailers, or from their website. These polishes where just £2.99 each which i think is a steal as they are great polishes, i have quite a few Barry M polishes in my collection now. I hope you like the first look of the year, thanks for reading and i shall see you all again soon x
