NOTD // Maybelline Peach Smoothie

Hello lovelies, hope your having a wonderful day. Today as you can tell is a nails of the day and before i show the photo's i just want to apologise for the dent in my nail on my index finger, i kind of had an accident with a razor.
Maybelline Color Show - Peach Smoothie £2.99

This is the first color show nail polish I've tried and i have to say on the formula side of things i was a little let down. Beautiful light shades like this i always fall in love for but i find it a pain when i have to apply a million coats to get the actual colour that's on the bottle on my nails. I think in the end to get the colour as solid as in the picture i applied around four coats, certainly not a colour you can achieve if your in a hurry.  However i do adore the colour so on days where i have the time to apply it, or if i plan it and apply the night before, i will still wear this polish.

Other than the colour being a bit on the weak side, it did dry quite quickly and lasted really well on my nails. I'm yet to try darker/brighter toned colours from this range so i hope this doesn't apply to all polishes as they do have some nice colours. I know it's only £2.99 and some people would think you can't really argue for the price but with brands such as Sinful colors and Barry M being just as cheep, i do hold rather high expectations even for rather affordable polishes these days.

Yet with all that seeming a bit negative i do still really REALLY like the colour haha. Do you have the same niggles with light polish shades? X

Review // Body Armour Body Butter

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful week. Today I'm sharing my thoughts on a body butter i was very kindly sent from a new brand to me called Body Armour.
Body Armour body butter £15

" Recommended for men and women with very dry skin, dry patches and blemishes. Formulated as a post-treatment cream, ideal for use post-waxing and straight after bathing to protect, hydrate and nourish.  The soothing effect of Babassu Oil really comes into its own with this product. Our body butter is a professional formulation and for best results melt product between hands before application.
pH Balanced, paraben free and contains natural moisturising ingredients. For combination skin.
Enriched with Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and , of course, Babassu Oil, the revolutionary natural skin protectant. Known to aid skin protection from the damaging effects of free radicals in the environment.  "
The first thing i have to mention is how amazing it smells as it's the thing i love the most about this body butter, i really wish there was some way i could share it with you. It reminds me of the Stella McCartney perfume just more subtle and creamy.....if that makes sense haha, but isn't overly feminine so is actually a unisex product. Because of this i feel really sexy and would with out a doubt have this as my go to moisturiser for special occasions so my skin would not only feel silky smooth but also smell amazing.
It's extremely creamy in texture and literally just melts into the skin and a little bit goes a long way. I do find it can take up to about 10 minutes to fully absorb but once it has there's no horrible greasy or tacky feel, it just leaves your skin moisturised and smooth. I suffer with dry skin (especially on my legs) and they're quite blemished which really bothers me and are normally at their worst when i shave. As this body butter is designed to target and help those problem areas i was really keen to see if it would help and i must say I'm rather impressed. It has certainly cleared up my dry skin and my legs feel soft and smooth even the day after I've applied it.
It is quite expensive i won't lie but a little bit does go a long way and i feel like although it is designed and you can use it daily, i use this for days when I've shaved to give my skin some love and care and on special occasions as it is rather luxurious.
Do you have a special body butter you like to use for special occasions? X

NOTD // Matte Barbie

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful day. Yesterday i shared a picture of these nails on my Instagram and it got a few likes so i thought i would share it.
excuse the tatty nails.
Models Own pink blush £5
Rimmel lycra pro matte finish £5

As you can see this is an extremely basic and easy look to create, which is why i wasn't sure on whether to blog about but seem as it proved popular on my Instagram i thought i would so you could see what polishes i used.

Models Own pink blush is the ultimate barbie pink polish in my eyes and as you already know i adore their polishes and think their amazing for the price, certainly well worth picking up. I applied to coats of the colour waited till it was completely dry and then added a coat of the Rimmel matte finish to turn it....well matte haha. Annoyingly i can't find a link to the Rimmel matte finish but i picked mine up from Boots around the £5 mark and i love trying it out on lots of different colours so it's great if you like matte nails.

Whats your favourite shade to turn matte? X

Make-up Look // Back To School

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful week. Today is a make-up look I've created more so for students going back to school but this can be worn by anyone who wants an easy affordable natural beauty look.
Products used:
MUA matte perfect primer £4
Bourjois Healthy mix serum foundation shade 52 £10.99
Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer shade light £3.99
Rimmel stay matte powder in transparent £3.99
Maybelline master brow pencil shade soft brown £2.99
MUA pro-brow kit £3.50
MUA blush perfection shade dolly £2.00
MUA shimmer kisses bronzer £3.00
MUA mega volume mascara in black £3.00
Maybelline baby lips shade peach kiss £2.99
I chose the matte perfect primer as it controls troublesome oily areas so balances the complexion making a nice base for the foundation and helps the make-up last through the day but this step can always be left out. I then applied my foundation with a damp make-up sponge as i find this technique really quick and easy to blend out foundation and it just leaves a nice flawless finish. As i have horrendous dark under eye circles i then applied my lasting perfection concealer to hide them and blended out with the same make-up sponge. To set this in place and get rid of the shine in my t-zone area i took my stay matte powder and applied this with a fluffy blending brush. I really think a nice groomed pair of eyebrows make a difference so i shaped them with the master brow pencil and then filled them in lightly using the brow kit, i find blending the top two shades together perfect for me and leaves them still looking very natural.
For the finishing touches i took the MUA dolly cream blush and lightly applied it on my check bones and made sure it was nicely blended out using my finger tips. I then applied two coats of the mega volume mascara to make my lashes darker and have more volume but i also find this mascara adds a nice lift to my lashes aswell. Taking the shimmer kisses bronzer i used this to highlight my check bones, eye brow bone, the inner corner of my eyes and on the cupids bow, i find doing these little touches really make a difference and makes the look a lot more polished and looks like you've spent a lot more time and effort in your make-up. To complete this look i then took my baby lips in peach kiss which not only keeps your lips moisturised throughout the day but also has a slight peach sheer colour so it makes it look like your lips just a million times better.

NOTD // Elegant Sparkling Nails

Hello lovelies, hope your all well. Today i am finally doing a nail of the day post after quite some time it seems, so all nail followers I'm sorry i promise i haven't forgot you.
Revlon nail polish Sparkling £6.49
Models Own polish Peach Puff £5.00

I haven't bought any new nail polish in an awfully long time, well what feels like a long time to me anyway haha. I'm trying to use the many shades that i already own and come up with new combinations and this is one i come up with and really love. I think these are so girly and princess like but also look very grown up and elegant at the same time.

I'm a massive fan of Models own polishes, the formula is always wonderful and even with this light shade i only needed two coats to get a solid colour, i also love how quick drying it is. I then used Sparkling from Revlon which is full of beautiful pink glitter to jazz it up a little. To create the fading effect with the glitter i started from the tip of the nail and dragged down, if you feel like you need a little more glitter at the top then just apply it at the tips. I'm not really a massive glitter fan but i love applying it in this way as it's not too in your face and just makes the nails look a little more special.

How do you like to wear glitter polish? X

Review // Benefit They're Real Mascara

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful day. Today I'm sharing my thoughts on another mascara and one that's very well known and rather popular.
Benefit they're real mascara £19.50

As you can see i have the small travel/sample size which i got free with a magazine a little while ago, which i was very excited to get and try as it had a lot of hype around it. I'm always honest when giving a review so i shall be no different if it's a holy grail product for loads of bloggers, i have a huge love hate relationship with this mascara.

On it's own i really can't get along with it, i find it clumps my lashes really bad, the wand is always loaded with too much product and is such a heavy formula it doesn't add any real lift or curl. Yes it may make them black and add length but they do not look like a lovely set of false eyelashes that it's meant to give the appearance of. Curling my eyelashes is a step i always take with any mascara i use but even when i took this step with this mascara it still didn't make it look great.  I really couldn't understand what all the hype and love for this product was all about, especially with the rather expensive price tag it comes with so i was rather disappointed.

However when i tried it a few weeks after i wiped the excess product off the wand and applied a very light coat over my MUA mega volume mascara (which i curled my lashes before i applied either mascara). Although i had to be very careful to avoid the lashes clumping together it made my lashes a lot darker, added some length, volume and slight curl. The formula was still quite heavy so through the day my lashes would lose their lift but overall it looked a million times better and give the appearance of what it was meant to. Applied like this i really like this mascara and it does look like I'm wearing a nice pair of false lashes.

So I'm really up in the air about this mascara on the one hand it looks like an awful cheep mascara but then it can look amazing if you take the time to apply it correctly. The main thing i have is this mascara is meant to give you amazing lashes with ease and is quicker then applying a pair of false lashes and i don't find this at all, i have to faff around with it for ages and could apply a set of false lashes with the same amount of concentration and time it takes me with this mascara. Due to this i have a huge problem with paying near enough £20 for a mascara i want to love but can really hate at times and have to try so hard to get it to work for me.

What's your thoughts on this raved about mascara? X

Video // Beauty Haul

Hello lovelies hope your all having a good start to the week. I've uploaded a new YouTube video on some of the beauty purchases I've made over the last few weeks, most of which where on some kind of offer.
All the offers i have mentioned are still running as far as I'm aware and obviously when this post was first published. I did try and get this up quickly so hopefully you can get a bargain but i apologise if that's not the case.

I shall be reviewing all these new products for you but if there's anything you'd particularly like to see first then just leave me a comment and i shall do so asap. I have already reviewed the Revlon lash potion mascara and the No7 tickle lip crayon if you would like to know more about those.

Have you come across a bargain lately? X

Review // Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful day. Today I'm sharing my thoughts on one of the products i won from a giveaway a while ago from the wonderful Colleen over at Vanity & Vodka, she's an amazing make-up artist and beautiful person so go check her out.
I find this kind of packaging for liquid lines quite cute in a way as its almost like an old fashioned pot of ink with a quill....no, just me being weird again haha.
The first thing i noticed about this eyeliner which made me very pleased was how fine the tip is of the applicator and how stiff it is. Because of this i was able to get the perfect winged eyeliner as i found it so easy to use, it was like using the finest pen that glided perfectly to give a precise line. I will openly admit eyeliner is not one of my strong points and i have tried several different types and methods to try and find one that suited me best, the other liquid eyeliner i own had more of a brush applicator so moved when i tried to apply which led to easy mistakes.

It comes out nice in consistency not too watery and weak in colour nor is it so thick it's difficult to work with and it certainly comes out the shade it's meant to...jet black. After i applied the winged liner i allowed it to dry and set in place with a black eye shadow, i found that it didn't budge and stayed nicely in place all day. I was also very happy that it was easy to remove even though it had great staying power.  I think this is a brilliant liquid eyeliner and certainly a good one for beginners who like me struggle in getting a perfect crisp line.
Please excuse the awful hair and pose haha.
Although this is an American brand you can buy it from places such as amazon or i have found Coastal Scents products on Beauty store 4 u where you can buy this eye liner for under £5. Have you tried any Coastal Scents products? X

Review // Revlon Lash Potion Mascara

Hello lovelies, hope you've all had a wonderful weekend. Today I'm sharing my thoughts on a new mascara i bought earlier this week.
Revlon Lash Potion £9.99
I adore the cute fairy like packaging it's just so eye catching and different to the majority block one colour mascaras. I also like how the name goes with the packaging it's like the fairies potion to wonderfully beautiful lashes....or maybe that's just me haha.

I accidentally picked this up in shade blackened brown instead of black but I'm actually rather glad i did. I find most brown mascaras to light and in my opinion don't look quite right on me but this is still quite dark without being black. The wand is a large bristle brush but it's not quite as large as other mascaras I've owned where it's been too large and I've ended up with mascara all over my brow bone haha. I find the bristles catch every single lash and coats it nicely whilst creating volume and lift and it's easy to use on the bottom lashes also. I really like how this mascara makes my lashes look as it doesn't clump or make them look like spider legs. As this lengthens, volumes and darkens my lashes i find that i only have to use this along with my eye lash curlers to create the effect i want instead of using two maybe three mascaras at once.

This one isn't water proof however there is a waterproof one if that's what you need. I find this so easy to remove even though it holds my lashes in place nicely throughout the day, it doesn't pull or remove any of my lashes. Overall this mascara really works for me and gives me amazing lashes with minimal effort, i shall certainly be keeping this in my mascara collection.

Make-Up Look // Two Faced Skull

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful week. A few of you may already know (more so if you follow me on twitter) that I'm a little bit of a geek and I'm obsessed with special effects/theatrical make-up. I am dying to get me hands on the materials to come up with horror like make-up looks like a Chelsea smile or some beat up old decaying zombie but sadly my budget currently is stopping me from doing that. However that never stops me looking and yesterday i come across a super cool website called Nimba creations, and whilst watching their videos i was feeling creative so decided to draw a skull on my face....as you do haha.
I've been drawing skulls in my sketch book for years and have a pacific reference photo i always seem to go to so using old faithful i used a white MUA eyeliner to map out the features. I found it actually quite easy knowing where to place certain shadows as you can pretty much feel around your own bone structure to map it out. I then used my Collection 2000 extreme felt eyeliner in black to fill in the parts which where completely in shadow (so would be at their darkest), i didn't use it for all the markings as i didn't want it to be all block colour. For the rest and to get rid of the shine of the liner i used the black shadow from my Crown brush 88 palette and blended the colour accordingly. To finish i then filled in the teeth with the MUA white eyeliner and blended it out on certain parts of the face and used the black liner to fill in both water lines. And as you can see for the other half i just pretty much did my make-up as normal with a nice bold red lip.
I must admit for my first ever attempt of doing a skull in make-up and only using what i already had I'm really happy with how it turned out. Do you enjoy special effects make-up, if so what would you most like to make yourself up as? X

Tutorial // LO'Real Wild Ombre Kit

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a wonderful week. If you follow me on Instagram you would already know that the other day i touched up my ombre hair and i actually filmed it so i could show you guys how i achieve my ombre hair at home using the LO'Real wild ombre kit.

If you would like to know my thoughts on the dye i have already done a review when i first used it to ombre my hair back in November, which you can read here. Although i am touching up my hair in this tutorial these are the same steps i done when first using this kit, i just had to use two boxes to lift my hair as it's so dark.

If you have any questions then please feel free to ask and i shall try to answer them asap. Do you still like the ombre hair trend? X
