Halloween // Mummy Friendly Cat

Hello lovelies, i hope your all well and having a good Monday. So as we all know it's Halloween this week so plenty of strange and creative make-up looks are all over the place, sadly this year due to reasons listed in my last post i haven't had the time to do the make-up looks i wanted (booooo). So i thought to myself what can i do with the make-up i already have and wanted to do something mummy/child friendly so all you lovely mums who want to dress up can without terrifying their poor little ones haha. This look is really easy to do as the products i use most of you will more than likely have in your everyday make-up bag or you can pick up super cheep at a drug store or supermarket.

You will need:
foundation/ bb cream
concealer
eyeliner
bronzer

Firstly you can start off how you would normally for your everyday make-up as the base doesn't matter what you use. I used my MUA matte perfect primer and then a small amount of bourjois healthy mix serum to give a slight coverage to help hide redness and slight imperfections, I then applied my collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer to banish my dark under eye circles. I also lightly filled in my eyebrows with the maybelline master brow pencil in soft brown just to shape them slightly and fill in where i have sparse hairs but i didn't do my full brow routine as i didn't want them to be too precise and bold.

Next take your eyeliner (again it doesn't matter what type you prefer) i personally find a felt tip liner easiest to use to firstly map out where i want the black to go and fill in large areas quickly, i done this with the collection 2000 extreme felt liner. When doing this it's always good to have a reference photo to help guide you so i just used cats...seem as we want to look like a cat haha. For the nose i filled in the under/nostrils part of the nose in a upside down triangle type shape and then went down the middle of my filtrem. Before doing the cat mouth i used my MUA pro-base concealer to help block out my lips so the cupids bow wouldn't show through (i have quite full lips so this is a step I'd recommend just to make it look a bit more feline and polished), after doing so i then filled in my top lip and created feline like cheeks.  For the eyes you pretty much want to do a basic cat eye that's quite thick lined on the top and thin along the bottom, with an added thick exadurated tear duct and add a coat of mascara.

To make the black darker i then went over with my maybelline lasting drama gel liner and with what was left on the brush i used for little faint spots above the lips where cats would typically have them. Finally i set this all in place with a black eyeliner, i also done this to take away any shine so it looked a lot more natural....for a cat. To complete the look i applied my bronzer heavily to the temples, jaw line and on cheek bones to add a feline like structure and shake up that hair cause the huger and messier the better!

There we have it a quick and easy look you can do with make-up you already own and can wear without scaring any poor little children, perfect for a last minute Halloween party. Do you have any Halloween plans this year? X

Lifestyle // Let's Catch Up

Well helloooo lovelies, it has been a while! So it has been like a month since i have done a post, which is absolutely insane and i have missed it and you wonderful ladies like crazy :(. So whilst I've been away from the blogging world my life has been a little manic and i thought i would touch upon it briefly so you all know why i just randomly vanished.

Firstly I'm going to touch upon an emotional factor which i have spoken about before but a lot of you may not have read about is my fathers cancer. Without going to in depth, we found out that he needs to have chemotherapy, so obviously blogging wasn't really on my mind or something i wanted to do after. It will go on for a few months so I'm not too sure on how it may affect the frequency of my posts but i hope to work out some kind of schedule.

The biggest and most time consuming reason is that i have moved (YAY) not far from where i was already but into a lovely Victorian house closer to the city centre and i just love it haha. Now anyone who has moved before will understand the stresses and how much time it can take over (I'm literally still unpacking and finding homes for everything), however add a dog and a toddler into that mix and it makes it bloody hard and stupidly stressful! So on my You Tube videos my background will be different and look a darn site better, fingers crossed my lighting will be better too and who knows it may be good enough for me to start doing some tutorials. Also i may have a few DIY posts on re-vamping furniture and little home projects that I'm going to be doing, so if your a crafty person keep your eyes peeled.

Lastly and most annoyingly has been health, over the last month or two it has seemed like someone in the beckawoo household has been ill. This week my little one had to go in hospital so a lot of my time has/will be obviously focused around him. And i am also ill myself, I'm currently all tucked up in bed so seem as i had a free hour i thought i would write this haha. Hopefully once me and the little one are back on our feet that will be it as I'm rather fed up with illnesses now!

So yeah that's just a quick touch on why I've been MIA latley, I hope you've all been well and a massive thank you to all of you and all my new followers that have joined despite me having such a long break, it really means a lot X

Guest Post // My Everyday Makeup Bag

Hi there everyone! My name is Kallie, and I blog over at But First, Coffee. I blog about beauty, life and the occasional cocktail. Thanks so much to Becky for giving me a chance to share a post on her lovely site!

I've never shared my everyday makeup bag on my blog and I've always thought they made great guest posts.  I love snooping around other people's bags and seeing what they love using on a day-to-day basis! My everyday makeup bag has some of my cult favorites as well as some products that rotate in and out.

Foundation:
My bag contains a foundation as well as a CC Cream.  Most days I apply a CC Cream all over my face and then use a moist beauty blender to apply the foundation where I need a little extra coverage.

L'Egere CC Cream: I received this CC cream from an Asian Beauty Swap I did with a fellow blogger friend and I've been really loving it.  It's light coverage, like a typical Asian BB cream, but gives my face a more smooth and even complexion.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation "115": This is my second bottle of this foundation.  When applied with a primer, it gives me such a beautiful dewy look.  I have combination skin, so I love this because I can use it pretty much all over if I want, and then just powder my t-zone without getting dry patches anywhere else.

Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in C110 Fair: This is my current favorite foundation powder. I think it does an amazing job setting my foundation and it also is build-able if I need a little extra coverage.

Primer:
My primers come and go because I'm always wanting to try new ones.  Because a little goes a long way, sample sizes can last me a couple of months.

Lancome LaBase Primer: This is probably the best primer I've used in my train of primer samples.  It gives my face such a perfect canvas to apply my foundation and gives me a glowing complexion without looking oily.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I've only use this one a few times, it's my newest addition.  I can't say I've used it enough to make a definite decision on it, but I know it gets a lot of hype. Any of you ladies use it? What are your thoughts?

Bronzer:
I have two go-to bronzers, one for contouring and the other for an all over bronze glow.

Bourjois Bronzer in 51: This is my all over bronzer. The powder itself has these tiny gold flecks that don't show up on your skin but they give you a lovely glow. Also, it has a sweet scent which always perks me up a little every morning.

theBalm. Bahama Mama: If I could only have one bronzer for the rest of eternity, I'd chose this one. While I tend to use it just for my contouring, because it's the perfect matte shade, I could easily use it to bronze all over as well. I struggled for a while to find a good contour shade for myself because I'm fair-skinned with cooler undertones. If you're looking for a good contouring bronzer and you have fair skin like me, I suggest you give Bahama Mama a try.

Setting Spray:
In the summer I usually opt for a setting spray with a little more oomph, such as my Urban Decay Chill spray. But in the Autumn and Winter I can use something lighter.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Water Spray: This is not technically a setting spray.  It's a thermal water mist, designed to moisturize and prevent aging.  But, because I don't need to worry about my makeup sweating off in the colder months, I switch over to a spray like this to set my makeup around this time of the year.  It helps to keep my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed.

Concealer:
I use two under-eye concealers. One to cover dark circles and one to highlight.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser: Sheesh Maybelline with the long names.  I've been using this under eye concealer for about a year and a half.  My under-eyes get strangely dry as the day goes on and I love this because it doesn't dry out my under eyes like a lot of other concealers do.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer: Another product I've been using for about a year and a half.  I go through a tube of this every 2-3 months.  It does an amazing job brighting up my under eye area.  It's probably my favorite part of my makeup application everyday because after I put it on my just looks more alive and awak.  You can also use it to highlight down your nose, across your forehead and on the dark areas of your chin.

Cheeks:
I'm noticing a pattern as a share my products with you... I like two of everything. For cheeks, one cream and one powder blush.

theBalm Hot Mama: This blush came with my bronzer and I've been in love with them both ever since. This color is the most gorgeous rose gold shade, comparable to Nars Orgasm.

Bourjois Cream Blush in Sweet Cherry: I love cream blushes. I just feel as though they stay for longer.  This color is a beautiful dark pink.  I love the way these Bourjois cream blushes apply, I wish I had picked up more when I was in London!

Eyes:
My everyday makeup look is usually more about a glowing complextion and less about a fancy eye look.  I often apply a wash of color all over my lid with a light contour in the crease and then a thin cat-eye liner.

E.L.F Brow Kit: Can't neglect those brows. Most recently I've been liking the E.L.F eyebrow kit to get the job done, but I'm in the market for something new.  Suggestions?

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow trio "Walking on Eggshells": Perfect everyday palette with a bright shimmery highlight color, a more rosey pink shimmer and then a golden brown. These trios are so pigmented as well.

Wet n Wild Mega Liner Liquid Liner: This product is one of my favorite products. I have a whole post on my blog dedicated to my love for this liner. The brush is perfect so you can get the exact shape and size line you want, and the liner literally doesn't budge or flake off all day long.  And, on top of that, it's very pigmented BLACK, unlike some liquid liners that are more of a sheer grey.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: While I'm often experimenting with different mascara samples, this is always my go-to mascara. Lengthening and volumizing.

Chella Ivory Highlighting stick: I use this pencil on my water line and to highlight my inner corners.  I love the way it brightens my eyes up.

Lips:
Man, are you guys sick of me yet? I hope not too much! Lastly, my everyday lip choices, one lipstick and one gloss.

NYX Mega Gloss in "Beige". A lovely everyday nude-pink. Not super long lasting, but not drying, sticky or tacky- and a perfect shade for almost everyone.

Revlon Lip Butter in "Cotton Candy": This lip butter is the "my lips but better" shade for me.  Like most people, I'm totally obsessed with the Lip Butters and own a small army of them. This one is always my go-to pick.

Ok lovely people of Becky's blog.  Thank you so much for reading! I had such a blast writing up a post for you guys and finally sharing my everyday makeup bag!  I'm always excited for new blog friends so make sure to stop by my blog and say "hi!"
