Review // Jo Malone Home Candle & Diffuser

I'm a massive candle fan and if it was possible to fill my home with luxury candles i most certainly would however until a few weeks ago small Yankee candles would be as far as my budget went. As part of our wedding gift i thought i would treat the home (and myself more like) to something I've wanted for quite some time. Unfortunately there isn't a Jo Malone store where i live so i had to imagine the scents and chose from the name and brief descriptions, and going on those i could easily buy every single one. After many hours, that's right hours of reading and in-visioning the scent i finally chose the English pear & freesia diffuser and the nectarine blossom & honey home candle.

Nectarine blossom & Honey home candle - £40
"London's Covent Garden early morning market. Succulent nectarine, peach and cassis and delicate spring flowers melt into the note of acacia honey. Sweet and delightfully playful. To uplift, to wind down, or simply to add an air of luxury. Transform the atmosphere with luxury and opulence."
Top note: cassis, heart note: acacia honey, base note: peach.

By that paragraph alone i could in vision a heavenly scent that i could picture in my front room and having it burning whilst working or winding down of an evening. Even though this is a very delicate scent when just smelling the candle, when burning it fills the room with a beautiful soft sweet fruit, slightly floral scent without it being heavy. The home candle is a single wick candle with a burn time of 45 hours, which comes in a elegant jar and lid with a cute black bow, i also received a box of matches and who knew matches could feel so special being all black and a nice long length. I was pleasantly surprised on how quick the aroma fills the room when lit, some scented candles have to be lit for some time before you can notice them and i did fear this might be a factor with such a delicate scent but within 30 mins it filled the room.

English pear & Freesia diffuser - £54
"The essence of autumn. The sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias, and mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods. Luscious and golden. Understated. Sleekly designed. These diffusers effortlessly and continuously add an enveloping scent to any space."
Top note: King William pear, heart note: freesia, base note: patchouli

As I'm not an overly floral scent person i was slightly hesitant with this and thought i may be less fond of this one out the two but the thought of ripe pears and the essence of autumn drew me in and I'm pleasantly surprised as I'm in love. Again this scent is very light yet easily fills the space with it's well balanced tone, i have placed this in my hallway by my front door and the joy of coming home to this luxurious smell fills me with joy. I will also add that i have a dog and a cat and this diffuser rids the inevitable aroma from pets so i am very pleased that anyone entering my home is met with this wonderful smell. Again the packaging is elegant with a silver lid and black reeds which when delivered have the signature black bow round them.

When going through the checkout i had to opt for gift wrap, even though it was for myself i wanted the full Jo Malone package and it made it feel very special. They arrived in a beautiful white Jo Malone box wrapped with the signature black bow and inside both products packed securely with black tissue paper. If your like me and have a thing for nice boxes this is one i shall keep and find something to fill with. I am thrilled with my first Jo Malone experience especially the fact that i love both scents just by going by the description, i would truly say it's worth the splurge.
