Review // Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette

Soon to hit the UK stores the new Urban Decay naked smokey palette is sure to have a lot of naked beauty fans going crazy. This is the first naked palette i think i have joined the excitement about and bought on the first realise and i have to say it's pretty damn special, from the packaging right down to every single shade. I have seen a few fans not thinking it's very special or really see it as a smokey palette as they was expecting different shade choices however i think this is the must own palette out of the naked range.

The palette itself is made from a transparent grey plastic with beautiful smoke artwork under the silver embossed righting. Unlike other palettes it is fastened with a strong magnet so it shuts securely and sleekly so is travel friendly, there is also a large mirror across the the inside lid. Like the other palettes it comes with a double ended brush with the same smokey plastic detailing, one end is a small domed eyeshadow brush good for applying all over colour and the other a tapered fluffy eyeshadow brush which blends colours well. The shades are in order of most shimmery to least and i would say this is a more cool grey toned colour selection however unlike naked 3 i think this palette suites a far bigger skin tone variety. Now for what everyone wants, a run down of the shades...

High - A frosted warm champagne with a peachy undertone, contains slight micro glitters and is a wonderful inner corner highlight shade.

Dirtysweet - A lovely golden/slightly bronze metallic shade with nice warm yellow undertones.

Radar - A warm medium deep brown tone with micro glitters giving a lovely metallic sheen.

Armor - A silver grey shade with a frosted finish.

Slanted -  A cool toned metallic medium grey with slight blue undertone and a pearl finish.

Dagger -  Similar to slanted but this is a darker grey shade with blue undertones and has a satin finish.

Black Market - A beautiful deep black satin,  cool toned with a very slight sheen.

Smolder - A stunning rich deep plum toned purple with a lovely frosted sheen finish.

Password - A medium cool toned matte taupe, my personal favourite shade of the palette and is a beautiful crease colour.

Whiskey - A rich warm medium matte brown with warm reddish undertones.

Combust - A lovely delicate soft pink taupe, cool toned and matte finish.

Thirteen - A whitened beige matte.

All the shades are very pigmented and the colour pay off is brilliant, they are also soft and creamy so blend nicely and last well with only some shades having slight fallout. It's very rare i like and would use each shade from a palette but i am honestly impressed by each shade and the colour combinations achievable from this is mind blowing! I shall certainly be sharing looks from this palette but just to give an idea you can create a matte neutral smokey eye, a classic grey/black smokey eye, a rich glamours metallic look and a purple toned evening look, to mention just a few. If you was to ask me now which naked palette is a need this would hands down be the one, it ticks all the boxes for me, Urban Decay you have created a beauty.

    1. I'm not normally a purple fan but it is beautiful and i'm all about matte eyeshadows so i love the fact they've included enough to do a whole look with x

    1. I must admit i wasn't keen on just looking at it in the pan but it is lovely on and smoked out with the other shades x

  3. This is the first naked palette that I'm desperate for, all the colours look so good and would work well for different looks.
