Review // tarte tartelette eyeshadow palette

A palette full of matte eyeshadows...a dream come true in my eyes! Earlier this year i bought the Tartelette palette and i have hardly put it down since as it is truly wonderful, the shades, the quality, literally all of it is magical. I think it's fair to say you can tell that this is going to be a positive review.

As always lets start with the packaging seem as that's what we all notice first. The palette itself is made from a nice sturdy gold plastic, i know that makes it seem cheep but it is really nice with a ombre purple over the front. Inside is a massive mirror with the tartlette script and then the twelve shades each named and set in the gold plastic. Size wise it's quite nice as it's not to big and bulky and it fastens shut really securely making it travel friendly and i have took this away with me.

This is my first Tarte product as although they are a very highly raved about brand, very frustratingly the brand is rather difficult to get hold of in the UK but i have to say i haven't been disappointed. The formula of these shadows have to be some of the best I've come across, buttery smooth, bendable, long wearing and not a great deal of fall out which makes them a dream to wear and apply. This palette is quite purple toned dominated which i was a little unsure of at first glance as I'm not a massive purple fan, however how these shades blend and work with the neutral tones are simple beautiful and really enhance the normal neutral smokey eye. For me personally i live in neutral eyeshadows and not massive on colour so to be able to subtly incorporate a purple tone in is fantastic.

In the top row you have your warm toned neutral brown shades, middle row is the pink and purple tones and the bottom row are the cool neutral tones. What i love about this set up is they work perfectly in their own sets and also mixed, in fact the colour selection between the twelve shades are wonderful. I often find myself using the top row with wanderer as a crease shade as it's a lovely cool brown and some of the purple bombshell shade to darken and add a hint of purple on the outer edge. The fact that they're all matte tones to top it off is just amazing as an all matte palette isn't easy to come by.

It will come as no surprise that i would recommend this palette and if your like me and love your neutral matte shades i would go as far as saying its most certainly a need!
